It has 2 wide feet that lead up to a central holder. If you set part of what you’re working with on a table and the other part on the pedestal, you can start working with materials that would be too long for your workbench alone. You can even adjust the height between 25 and 43.75 inches to match the table you’re working with. But this pedestal is different from a regular sawhorse in that it has a metal roller at the top. It’s made with this roller so that you can more easily push materials away from you when you need to work on a different section. Imagine you’ve begun working on a project. You know what size it’s going to be and what materials you want to use, and you’ve made estimates as to the lengths of each piece you’ll need to cut out. However, before you can cut, you need to make notches to show where those cuts should be made. Using the pedestal roller, you can easily measure out a piece, make a mark, and then push the material towards the roller to make another mark. When you’re done, you can easily pull all of the material back and start making those cuts. If you’re going to use a work stand, you need to be sure that you can rely on it. That’s why this stand is made out of steel, with a structure that can hold up to 300 pounds. To keep the stand from sliding around, the feet of the pedestal are covered with non-slip rubber. If you happen to be working on uneven ground, you can adjust the feet to compensate.
